3RD STEERING COMMITTEE AND MID-TERM REVIEW WORKSHOP WERE FOCUSED ON THE PROJECT PROGRESS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF EACH WORKING PACKAGE

The 3rd Steering Committee meeting and the Mid-term review workshop of the APPRODI project were held in the lecture hall of the City of Dubrovnik Development Agency DURA, on the 27th and the 28th of February 2019.

Meetings were attended by the following project partners: Università degli Studi di Teramo, IT; (leading partner); Università Ca’ Foscari, Venice, IT; Ionian University Research Committee, Corfu, GR; City of Corfu, GR; University of Zadar, HR, and Dubrovnik Development Agency DURA, HR.

The Committee meeting and Mid-term review workshop were focused on the project progress report from the perspective of each working package, including activities such as:

  • preparation of the monography with a working title “ADRION Charter routes from antiquity to modern times”, that will be linked to the web-gis map containing locations of the ancient harbours;
  • development of the web portal that will be used to represent the results of local investigations through GIS map;
  • organization of the remaining local focus groups within partnership, and collection of their results;
  • preparation of the memorandum of understanding as a core document for establishing the ANCIENT ADRION PORTS CITY Network; partners also discussed challenges and opportunities with regards to the inclusion of the external cities to the Network;
  • progress of pilot actions (5 in total, from which Venice Early Medieval Harbour pilot case is accomplished);
  • development of the sustainable tourism training course modules and training organization for unemployed and touristic operators;
  • promotional activities, including the development of the Attractive Ancient harbours web portal, the development of the Strategic Action Plan and promotional materials;
  • communication activities with relevant stakeholders and general public through social media, and project website.

 

Partners also scheduled future deadlines and dates for the upcoming call conference and steering committee meeting.
